Here is a log of my gardening experiences in coastal South Carolina.

March 2010

Just finishing the master gardening course, I was eager to apply what I had learned.  I had the soil tested in several different areas of my lawn and discovered my entire yard was very acidic and needed lime.

April 1, 2012

Here we are, 2 years later and I haven't written a thing in this log.  Charleston, SC has had 2 unusual winters - 2011 was very cold, and 2012 was so warm it didn't seem like winter.  I want to share a plant that 'wintered' from last year - Clivia miniata, or commonly known as Bush lily.  The bloom started peaking up about March 1, so it took a full month to be in its glory.  I'm especially excited that a baby plant is starting to appear about 6 inches away.
